Ottawa 2

Rain eased during the afternoon, and we walked a lot, and did a tour of Parliament Hill and the houses of Parliament. The security check was like an airport, and Barry as always, was carrying his Swiss Army knife, which was temporarily confiscated. It was an interesting tour and the library was stunning - a circular building with more than half a million books

We walked along the Rideau Canal, which is a marvellous achievement with many locks, and visited the Bytown Museum. We'd love to go back in winter when the canal freezes over for 10kms and becomes a giant skating rink.

Clam chowder dinner at nearby Byward Market and back to our jail and bed.
It was a fabulous day.
